Western Circuit Sailing Regatta offshore at Raffles Marina Singapore
At the Western Circuit Sailing Regatta in Singapore, colourful spinnakers brightened an otherwise hazy grey horizon offshore from the Raffles Marina.
The South Westerly breeze of 8-10 knots strengthened during the day and made for good sailing and the race committee were able to put through three races for each class.
IRC A: Jeff Davison’s Panic beat Bill Bremner’s Foxy Lady III in race one, and the two subsequent races after Foxy Lady III’s patched main sail tore in half forcing retirement in race two so that Jeff Davison was able to sail away and win all three races.
IR C B: Renfred Tay’s Plato 25 SMUve was the smallest boat in the field but on corrected time won all three races.
J24 One Design: Bob Comstock got the crew on Compass Rising humming with three wins to lead.
