Reefpoint Marina aims for Lake Michigan lakefront revival
A synergy between Reefpoint Marina and Downtown in Racine, Wisconsin may finally this year be realising a little of the potential that planners envisioned when they created a new harbour and hoped for a revitalised Downtown lakefront.
Boat rentals are up by just over 9% compared to a year ago and may reflect that synery of Downtown developments giving boaters something to do close to the marina and Downtown giving boaters a reason to stop at the excellent Reefpoint marina facility.
Michael Pretasky Sr., chairperson of Skipper Buds that manages Reefpoint marina agrees revenues are up but points out that two marinas have been closed for developments and boaters are using Reefpoint marina in the interim but in the future Reefpoint will suffer stiff competition.
Pugh Marina is being bought out by a Milwaukee developer so he can build the future Pointe Blue just north of Root river and Hammond, Ind. marina has been closed while a large casino is being built.
