Kate Middletons and The Sisterhood to row across the English Channel
Kate Middleton has signed up to The Sisterhood for a channel crossing row – 21 miles as the crow flies - on August 25 that starts from Dover and finishes at Cap Gris Nez, near Calais. The girls go up against a 17-strong male team called, you guessed it, The Brotherhood.
In a boat safety concerning move the mostly novice sailors ditched their wetsuits for silk empire line dresses by sponsor, Qveen.
“If we make it, we will be the first all-girl team to cross the Channel in a dragon boat,” Miss Sayle said last night. “There will be 19 of us in the boat and we’ll have two reserves.”
To reduce wash from spectator boats and other craft The Sisterhood have applied for a 20 metre exclusion zone.
