Stormy Conditions during Burnham-On-Sea Regatta Race
Strong winds whipped up turbulent seas that required two yachts to retire during the first main sailing race of the 2007 Burnham-On-Sea Regatta this Sunday the 29th July.
Regatta organiser John Clist told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We certainly had all the wind we could have wanted, which made for exciting racing.”
A flotilla of thirteen yachts set sail, from Bridgwater Bay, to brave the challenging conditions, especially the most difficult stretch of water between the jetty and the number two buoy.
The Burnham-On-Sea regatta continues through the week.
